Tirana, the capital of Albania, is an extremely vibrant city – accessible in size, yet with a set of events rivaling larger European capitals. It was selected the European Youth Capital for 2022 due to the incredible combination of arts, culture, and entertainment – alongside the great weather and amazing geography Albania provides. Add to this a relatively low cost of living and warm hospitality, and it is not a surprise to see an increase in ‘digital nomads’ choosing to live in Tirana. People from anywhere are welcome to attend the Holberton School in Tirana. Including those from neighboring countries of wanting to be part of our soon coming regional expansion.
In fact, we encourage internationals to join us for an amazing 2022. Take a ‘gap year’ and combine the world’s best technology education with a super fun set of programs lined up for the European Youth Capital celebrations.
Alongside this livability, you’ll be part of a period of high growth for technology in Tirana. The municipality, in conjunction with the Albanian government, is committed to making Tirana a center of innovation in the region. Holberton School’s ability to increase the supply of coders fits perfectly in line with a surge in demand for IT resources from the area. In few places will one find such a combination and ‘will’ and ‘way’ that can really raise the tide for the technology ecosystem of a whole country. As a Holberton School student in Tirana you’ll be right in the center of this gathering momentum!
Our full-time, intensive program will first introduce you to the foundations of computer science, then specialize in what drives you. Our collaborative, project-based environment makes every student real-world ready after graduating.
We don’t think financial ability should be a barrier. That's why you will be given flexible options to finance your tuition. When Holberton students succeed, everyone succeeds.
The February and June 2023 cohorts of Holberton School Albania will have a tuition cost of €1,500 per
trimester, which is significantly lower than the cost in other markets. This cost is a great value,
considering the types of jobs that our graduates can expect to obtain and the quick timeline for achieving
these jobs.
Additionally, performance-based scholarships will be available for the best students who have
successfully passed the admission test at Holberton School.
These scholarships are offered by the Albanian Government Program for financial support for young
people attending qualification courses in coding and other ICT fields, which have been approved by VKM
no. 646, dated 05/10/2022. Holberton School Albania is one of the companies selected by the government
to offer this service.

Our team is working on further increasing accessibility through deferred loan programs with local financial institutions, and lobbying government for the needed legislation to allow other funding mechanisms like Income Share Agreements.
